Higher priced armors are gold sinks. That's the only reason they are in the game... to make you spend money on them.

in my opinion the fissure armor for warrior looks, well to put it politely, cr*p. i want the helmet as i believe it to be the only piece worth buying for its looks. however, when u eventually have fissure armor, people respect you in a way that simple glads cannot do

No.. that'd be against something GW stands for.. there are the people who have lots of cash.. those are not meant in what im about to give as example =P
There are a lot of people who play GW and don't have a lot of money.. or don't play as often.. and they would have to get the 15K armor.. to be equal IF it had all those fancy bonusses.. and that's not what GW is about ...
it even says so in the FAQ.. GW is more about skill than about time spend to play.. they try to get rid of that whole thing, still you have character building and 15K armor is'nt that hard to get .. but they didn't give them extra stats for that reason..
so it's simply a gold sink and to look better.

Wow.. Is that even English?
Anyway, you're talking about what's so special. Well, it's special, because noone can afford them, and you're pretty special if you can.

WOW... I... err... WOW!! Try typing in Word first and using a spellchecker, then cut and paste. Where do these people come from?
Apart from some of them looking crap or being the same design as the current 1.5k armor, they don't need any changes to them stat-wise... the game is supposed to be about skill (skill means player skill, build skill and team skill) not who has been grinding the longest.
